Oprah to Interview Whitney's Daughter + Family

I'm sure we all remember the September 14, 2009 interview Oprah did with Whitney Houston.  The singer opened up like never before and spoke about her drug abuse and tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown.  Well, the queen of daytime talk television has done it again, landing an exclusive interview with the grieving Houston Family.  Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room February 11 on the eve of the 2012 Grammy's ceremony.  Now, only four weeks after the death of iconic singer Whitney Houston, the Houston Family will sit down and speak candidly with Oprah about life with and after Whitney.  Slated to be interviewed is Bobbi Kristina (Whitney's daughter), her sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston and Gary Houston, the late singer's brother.  The interview is scheduled to air on March 11 on 'Oprah's Next Chapter'.  Be sure to tune in.

Limp Bizkit = YMCMB...Really?

Lil Wayne + Fred Durst = YMCMB

I know I'm late, but I couldn't resist commenting on this one.  Sooooo apparently Birdman has added to his ever growing repertoire of artist in the Cash Money camp, and signed Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit to his label.  I'm confused...why, what, who...never mind.  Birdman and Wayne are Capitalist.  Where ever they see the potential for revenue they are on it like a sunburn.  Signing the rock/rap group Limp Bizkit just adds to the diversity of their portfolio, so I guess its a good move. I ain't mad atcha' Birdman...a little confused, but not mad.  Supposedly Wayne and Limp Bizkit will be dropping a collaborative tune (titled: 'Ready To Go') on us next week via the INTERNET.  I will be sure to post it because I am super anxious to hear what that jointing together will birth in the way of muzak...what do y'all think about Limp Bizkit signing to Cash Money?  Sound off!!

"She Said Yes!"

Yes she did!  Amber Rose accepted rapper Wiz Khalifa's marriage proposal two days ago on March 1st.  The inseparable couple have never been shy about their love and adoration for one another and on Thursday Wiz decided to make an honest woman out of Ms. Rose.  Both took to their Twitter accounts to share the happy news of their engagement. Wiz posted, "She Said Yes!", along with the pic below on his Twitter account:

Wiz and Amber hooked up at the beginning of 2011. Now, barely a year later the couple is making plans to walk down the aisle.  Personally I hope it all works out for them.  They seem to be a happy, down to earth couple.  So, Congrats Wiz and Amber!! I hope you guys have a beautiful wedding and make gorgeous lil' bald headed peanut butter babies!!!  Wiz is known for being high, but the lady that has him on Cloud 9 right now isn't Mary Jane...it's Amber Rose.

Did I miss something?  Why are the headlines across the web screaming about Beyoncé doing what generations of women have done before her?  Breastfeeding in public is now a hot topic because Beyoncé did it?  Really?  Is this what the world has come to?  All across the web people are sounding off, whether in favor of or protest to, Beyoncé doing what most mothers do.  I’m going to need everyone to close their eyes, take a deep breath…and get a life!!! USA Today, ABC News and even International Business Times have chimed in with their opinion of the singer/actress breastfeeding her daughter in public.  They’re acting like she just started the second wave of the Women’s Rights Movement!  People, people, people…tuck your Vicky Secrets away, no need to go burning perfectly good bras!  Beyoncé whipped her tata out in public…so what (Janet did the same thing)!  Beyoncé’s the new face of the “Breastfeeding Advocates Movement”…SO WHAT!!  Beyoncé is helping America destigmatize public breastfeeding…SO FRIGGIN’ WHAT!!! Smh…B, no disrespect to you or Baby Blue, but you know this crap is for the birds.  What do y’all think?  Let me hear your thoughts.

Where my Basketball Wives fans at?  Hands up please!! My fav BBW cast member made her sexy bridal debut in a pre-wedding photo shoot that will have your bottom jaw scraping the groooound!  Evelyn looked absolutely stunning in several of, renowned bridal wear designer Ines Di Santo’s, pieces.  If you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so and didn’t know it…Evelyn Lozada is the fiancée of professional football player Chad Ochocinco.  The couple hooked up on the second season of Basketball Wives and despite backstabbing friends and overwhelming media attention they have managed to maintain a somewhat stable relationship.  I mean, how stable can the relationship between a reality t.v. star and professional athlete be, right?  Anyhoo Evelyn celebrated the occasion of her pending nuptials by throwing a pre-bridal bash at November Lily.  The bridal styling house owned and operated by LuLu Amin was happy to host the BBW star’s celebratory gala and you best believe Ms. Lozada did it up right!  Peep the videos below for more behind the scenes.

“King Kobe” Can’t Be Stopped!!

After suffering a concussion, nasal fracture and whip lash during the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, Kobe Bryant still managed to give a phenomenal performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves.  He put up 31 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the 104-85 Lakers win.  His teammates were very vocal about their opinions of the 16 year veteran’s amazing game. Pau Gasol said, “Not surprisingly, he just stepped up…he played great.”  Looks like it’ll take more than a little head, neck and face trauma to slow down this baller!!  Though he has been taking it slow in practice and is receiving neck treatment, I can’t see him playing any different in his next game against the Sacramento Kings!! Kobe has once again displayed why he deserves to be ranked among the best all-time basketball players.  Do ya thang Kobe, I ain’t even mad!!!

J. Cole Has "Visionz of Home"

J. Cole Day!

J. Cole returned to hometown, Fayetteville, North Carolina for the launch of his Dreamville Weekend festival.  The focus of the festival, scheduled to run from 1 March to 3 March, is “to give kids experiences they might not otherwise get, like going to a real record studio or to the zoo.”  The Grammy award nominated rapper released the song “Visionz of Home” on March 1^st, to commemorate the occasion.  He stopped through at a few local schools including his own alma mater Terry Sanford High School and encouraged the students to chase their dreams and go to college.  I have to say that I am very impressed with the platform Mr. Jermaine Lamarr Cole is standing on.   We need more young brothers and sisters to encourage and empower our youth.  Be an example!  Not just as a successful rapper/singer but as an individual and doing whatever moves your soul in a positive way.  Cumberland County Commissioner Charles Evans was also impressed with the Roc Nation lyricist. So much so, that he proclaimed March 1^st as ‘J.Cole Day’.  I’m adding it to my calendar, J!  Anyone doing something positive and uplifting for the community deserves a day of celebration!

Nicki Releases “Roman Reloaded” Album Cover Art

Can I ask one question?  Who let’s Nicki Minaj out the house without leashing her first?  Rap’s one and only Raptress {for the moment} has yet again gone against the grain of sanity.  Her “Pink Friday:  Roman Reloaded” album cover art (pictured above) looks like the work of a deranged “pre-schooler”.  If different is what she was going for, she is definitely “WINNING” in that category.  I just can’t see it as an actual album cover; maybe a promo or magazine shoot, but not an album cover.  Isn’t the purpose of an album cover to lure you in or give you some semblance of what the album is going to be about?  Based on this cover art, I would assume her album is going to be a hot mess!!  Now don’t get me wrong…I’m a fan of Nicki’s lyrics and style…when she’s human.  However, let’s be honest, she is doing the most, right now!! I don’t know maybe I’m being too hard on the Young Money First Lady…sound off and let me know how y’all feel about the new album cover.  My personal opinion…waaaack!

Good Deeds is a Good Pick

If you haven’t already done so be sure to check out Mr. Tyler Perry’s new film “Good Deeds”!! Based on the online reviews it is a definite “MUST SEE”.  Wesley Deeds is a change of pace from his normal loud talking, sardonic, overly violent character Mable “Madea” Simms, but I am sure you will enjoy the authenticity Mr. Perry brings to the role.  While some say seeing Tyler outside of makeup and the bodysuit is awkward, I think his portrayal of Wesley Deeds was believable and relative.  I recommend going to see it!!  Be sure to comment on your take of “Good Deeds.”  Out in theaters now; oh and for those who have not seen it I posted the trailer below!
